Chang Family Foods ("we," "us," or "our") is a recipe-sharing platform built to help families preserve and share the recipes that matter to them. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights around it.

When you create an account, we collect:

• Your email address
• A password (stored as a secure hash — we never see it in plain text)

When you use the platform, we also store the content you create: recipes, ingredients, instructions, and any images you upload.

We do not collect your age, phone number, address, payment details, or any other personal information beyond what is listed above.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account
• To send account-related emails (email confirmation, password reset)
• To display your name and recipes to users you follow or who are in your groups
• To operate and improve the platform

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell or rent your data to anyone.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the platform:

• OpenAI — When you use the Olga AI Chef feature, the text of your recipe request is sent to OpenAI to generate a recipe. OpenAI may store this data according to their own privacy policy. No personal account information is sent — only the recipe prompt.
• DigitalOcean — Our servers and file storage are hosted on DigitalOcean. Your data resides on their infrastructure.

We do not share your email address or any personal information with these or any other third parties.

4. Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal information and recipes will be permanently removed from our systems.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Withdraw consent for email communications (other than critical account emails)

6. Cookies

We use session cookies to keep you logged in and to protect form submissions (CSRF protection). We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

7. Children's Privacy

Chang Family Foods is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us and we will remove it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
